Learn more about Lissette Salgado-Lucas, Founder and President of Universal Ballet Competition. Born in Miami, Florida, Lissette evolved her passion for dance while studying with Liana Navarro, Judith Reece Newman and Marianna Alvarez. 2025 Iowa Middle School Basketball Championships hosted in Iowa City View Photo Gallery The Iowa City Area Sports Commission was proud to support and host the Iowa Middle School Basketball Championships March 21 -23, 2025. 104 teams from North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Nebraska, and Iowa competed in Iowa City and North Liberty for a state title. A huge thank you to the Palestra, Iowa City West High School, and the University of Iowa Fieldhouse for hosting teams on your courts! #WeGotNext
