Introducing the Iowa City Area Sports Commission’s Playmaker of the Month, Michele Conlon!
Once a month, we will be highlighting our sports community members during a time of year they work closely with our team.
Head Tennis Professional, Michele Conlon has been at the Hawkeye Tennis and Recreation Complex for 16 years. Michele grew up in the Iowa City area and was fortunate enough to participate in Don Klotz Tennis clinics, for whom the courts are named after. Michele is most proud of the comprehensive tennis programs that are offered to all levels and ages. The programs at the HTRC provides a foundation to hold events and tournaments. Most recently the IHSAA and the IGHSAU State Tournaments. In addition, the Iowa Tennis team practices and competes at the HTRC. Michele’s favorite thing about the HTRC is the people. “Our tennis patrons are passionate, lifelong learners, and fun individuals to be around” says Conlon. Michele’s best advice for members of the sports community is to “be curious, ethical and work hard!” Interested in learning more?
