Introducing the Iowa City Area Sports Commission’s June Playmaker of the Month, Tyler Dailey!

Once a month, we will be highlighting our sports community members during a time of year they work closely with our team.

Tyler has been involved with the sport for more than 20 years, when he began playing his junior year of High School. He is most proud of the work that the past and present Hawkeyes put in to ensure that their organization provides opportunities for students to stay active, create life-long friendships, compete nationally, and gain professional experience through internships that they offer. Tyler recently assisted with the Iowa City Block Party 7’s Tournament, an annual event held at the University of Iowa Rugby Fields. This event brought in teams from all over the Midwest to compete in a fast-paced version of rugby. Tyler’s favorite thing about the rugby community is that it “spans over the globe and is unmatched as one of the most inclusive sports in the world.” Tyler’s best advice to those looking to get into rugby is to “be willing to work hard, be a constant student of the game, and be a servant leader.”
